Applications Trainer Specialist

Position is located in Dubuque, IA

Grand River Medical group is seeking a motivated and confident Applications Trainer Specialist for our I.S. department. Duties for this position include assisting in the installation and support of all computer applications and developing and designing assigned projects and work with departments for specific training modules. You will function as the primary information technology trainer for the organization.

The ideal candidate would be accountable and supportive while also possessing strong critical thinking skills. You will be confident and positive with every interaction while providing training to new and current employees. You will have strong organizational and communication skills while being able to multi-task and prioritize issues as they arise.

This is a full-time position, 36-40 hours per week. This position is 5 days per week, with on-call responsibilities (after normal business hours), and occasional evening or weekend hours.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in ensuring that applications function efficiently and remain in safe functioning condition with appropriate backup systems in place.
  • Assist in the installation and support of all computer applications.
  • Answer user inquiries regarding software operation to resolve problems.
  • Provide and/or coordinate training needs with managers and staff.
  • Provide user training, train-the-trainer, staff and clinician training and ongoing new employee training.
  • Provide feedback to team on factors that contribute to user satisfaction and system compliance.
  • Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting organization wide applications.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Two-year degree - preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Information Systems, preferably in a health care setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance - required.

We currently employ over 300 team members who help support the practices and clinical operations of over 65 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistant clinics, our urgent care network, and four dialysis units located in Iowa (Manchester and Dubuque) and Wisconsin (Platteville and Richland Center).
