Description
Medical Associates is hiring an Applications Trainer to join our IT team! This person will help to facilitate all clinic-sponsored application training programs. Experience with Microsoft Applications (Teams, SharePoint, etc.) is strongly preferred.
The Position:
- Design and conduct training sessions for all clinic-sponsored applications through a variety of delivery methods including both large and small group classroom training, as well as department and/or individual 1 on 1, on-the-job sessions.
- Configure the company SharePoint systems by collaborating with management to strategize the most efficient ways to apply SharePoint to meet business’s goals. Provide technical support and guidance for SharePoint users.
Schedule: Primary hours are between 7:30am-5:00pm Mon-Fri, flexibility is required for earlier/later as needed. Off-hours on call rotation to provide Cerner support.
Location: This is an in office position located on the West Campus (1500 Associates Drive) with some travel to family care network locations.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate new employee onboarding by providing initial training on applications relevant to the employee role (Clinical, Physician, Business Office, etc.)
- Assist in developing and maintaining training curriculum, class descriptions, schedules, evaluation criteria and attendance.
- Work on projects to improve operational efficiency of applications and users, using the Cerner Lights-On Network, uCern or other operational tools
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge on all clinic-sponsored applications and be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Work in conjunction with Application Specialists and Training Coordinator to identify and facilitate application and user training needs and to validate training material content and design.
- Serve as backup for Application Training Coordinator and perform critical functions as deemed necessary.
- Responsible for providing reception communication and guidance to all receptionist positions in the organization including Family Care Network (FCN) satellite locations.
- Complete all other assigned projects and duties.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school.
Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills and a teamwork orientation are required. Strong computer skills required. Strong analytical and quantitative skills preferred.
Physical Aspects:
Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Fingering - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sound with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
Vision - 20 / 40 or better in the best eye with or without correction.
Repetitive Motions - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
