Job Overview

The Field Operations Manager plays a critical role in our company's success overseeing tactical operations across the field locations in our Southwest Super District. The territory includes locations in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and West Texas .

As the leader of field operations, you ensure prompt follow-through on district correspondence, complaints and inquiries related to the shipment of merchandise and stock-on-hand. You manage people and capacity to a budget and align resources across the network to meet the needs of the business.  This role is the head of the field operations leadership team and responsible for casting the vision, strategy, and tactical plans to achieve operational excellence. This position drives process improvements and create engaging environment in which the team is enabled to reach its goals and objectives, grow market share, and participate in business development.  This leader must be people first, inspire the operations team, mentor, and advise best practices alongside their teams.

Location: This is a remote-based position with frequent business travel; individuals must reside within the Southwest Super District.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Ensures safety is the top priority in the organization and that personnel are following regulations such as OSHA, EPA, DOT and company procedures related to HAZMAT handling, certifications, and registrations.
  • Partner with the Supply Chain Leadership Team to identify priority work and lead your team to deliver impactful solutions that support operational efficiencies and improved decisions within Field Operations.
  • Provides for cost effective and timely delivery of requested materials and equipment to all CESCO facilities through strong relationships with internal/external customers and management of available resources.
  • Directs achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service and safety.
  • Accountable for sales order management ensuring tactical order status queues, sales order date management, backorder status, and committed inventory accurate reflect current state of operations.
  • Administers training and compliance reporting to meet company standards.
  • Manage staff of field operations specialist supporting order management, freight claims, customer returns, and supply related reconciliations. 
  • Staffs, develops, motivates and directs an energized team to accomplish goals and maintain high quality standards on services, products and processes.
  • Define, build, and leverage critical decision support tools which enable visibility and real-time operational response to customer experiences, field capacity, and performance. Monitors workflow, work completed, error rates and related metrics and takes corrective action.
  • Ensures procedures are observed, implemented and enforced consistently across the Super District.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors training certification programs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years leadership experience in a distribution or field branch operations environment.
  • Knowledge of all functional areas in the wholesale electrical distribution industry preferred.
  • Prior experience managing a department budget.
  • Evidence of ability to reengineer processes and the associated change management process.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Individual must possess strong, comprehensive PC skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook products). Must have the ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and against deadlines. Also, must possess interpersonal and organizational skills, be a self-starter, be detail oriented, and communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  • Strong organization skills for control of order management tracking across the network of branches and distribution locations.
  • Ability to travel throughout the CESCO territory.
