Supervisory Responsibilities:
* People: None other than self.
* Data: All reports relating to motor route, trucking manifests, single copy returns.
* Things: Excel, Word, Newscycle, email, computer, office equipment, smart phone, fork truck, strapping machines, Route 4 Me/GPS.

Overall Responsibilities:
- Load, unload and organize incoming and outgoing publications and inserts.
- Assist DC Manager in managing bundle hauler and motor route contracts, dock flow/organization, truck manifests, and single copy returns.
- Communicate effectively with Circulation and Advertising Departments.
- Import down routes into Route 4 Me planner.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Maintain a "customer comes first" environment with pro-active commitment to internal and external customer service.
- Load, unload and organize publications to/from delivery trucks.
- Read and sort bundle facers according to routes.
- Help assist with outside conveyors and contractors.
- Assist in the recruitment and in contracting independent contractors for newspaper and TMC delivery.
- Preserve confidentiality of all advertisements.
- Process TH Extra paperwork.
- Print route list out for Sunday Farmers.
- Meet established service standards.
- Assist in single copy activities regarding distribution and returns.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all federal, state and local laws affecting assigned area.
- Suggest and initiate, as appropriate, new methods and procedures to enhance efficient operation of the department.
- Deliver down motor/bundle routes.
- Actively participate in the Great Game of Business.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Behavior: Self-motivated, reliable and takes initiative. Conducts self in a manner which enhances the public image of the company. Interacts well with others. Appropriate dress. Professional. Must be agreeable to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Maintain a valid driverâs license.
Skills: Decision making, listening, logical reasoning, organization, communication skills, leadership. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous supervisory experience helpful.
