Assistant Store Manager – Full-Time Opportunity
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a motivated Assistant Store Manager to support a local company with their store operations, drive customer satisfaction, and lead a high-performing team. This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining associate morale
- Lead and support daily store activities, including scheduling, inventory management, merchandising, and team training
- Conduct daily store walkthroughs to maintain company standards and assign duties
- Perform a variety of store functions, including driving forklifts, load-outs, operating registers, and handling customer service tasks
- Train and mentor associates to enhance their skills and maximize performance
- Maintain a clean, organized store environment and assist with advertising setup and promotions
- Oversee inventory verification, bank deposits, and financial reporting when the manager is unavailable
- Engage with the local community and encourage store involvement in nonprofit initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business-related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of retail or managerial experience
- Ability to complete the National Retail Hardware Association test within three months of hire
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, make data-driven decisions, and adapt to business needs
