Job Overview

Great River Learning is looking for their next Associate Acquisitions Manager! This a full-time sales position that allows you to work with different colleges and universities in your territory to identify business opportunities, interview professors, and persuade author candidates that they have what it takes to become GRL authors. We want to collaborate with talented educators in charge of lower level, higher-enrollment courses to develop more interactive and engaging materials. In addition, if the publication we develop works well locally we have the experience and resources to market it nationally.

What Will You Do?

  • Pre-plan your sale goals each week, and collaborate with your team member to creative new ways to obtain new authors.
  • Run meetings to interview, identify business opportunity, and recruit select college professors to become GRL authors.
  • Follow-up with prospective and existing authors. This includes keeping notes and next steps in the CRM for all prospective, in-development, and existing publications so both you and the in-house team have the information they need.
  • Work with authors and internal project management team members to help ensure publications launch on time and in quality.

Who Do We Need?

  • You must hold a bachelor's degree - we are looking for the right person, not necessarily a specific degree!
  • This role is great for recent college graduates, or someone who is looking to get their foot in the door at a nationally recognized publishing company.
  • A top performer that's used to going above and beyond the minimum expectations.
  • Competitive, highly organized, and self-driven.
  • Someone who sees time as a resource and not be wasted - we are looking for go-getters!
  • Someone who possesses enough leadership, motivation and purpose to hold yourself accountable.
  • Positive and have a "can do" attitude towards life.

Our employees are driven and passionate about excelling, learning, having fun, and making the world a better place by helping to improve the experience of both college-level students and professors.
