AUDIOVISUAL TECHNICIAN/ENTERTAINMENT REPRESENTATIVE

 

Job Description:

The Audiovisual (AV) Technician/Entertainment Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless audiovisual experiences within various settings, including the Q Showroom, Back Waters Stage, event spaces, and other entertainment venues. They are responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment to deliver high-quality presentations, performances, and events.  The Audiovisual (AV) Technician/Entertainment Representative will be responsible for coordinating and managing various aspects of events, such as conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, and corporate functions. Your primary goal is to ensure the smooth execution of events and provide exceptional customer service to clients and attendees.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment Setup and Configuration:
    • Install, set up, and configure audiovisual equipment such as projectors, sound systems, microphones, video conferencing systems, and lighting fixtures.
    • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and calibrated according to specifications.
    • Arrange and organize equipment in accordance with event requirements and spatial constraints.
  2. Technical Support and Operation:
    • Provide technical support and assistance during shows, events, meetings, conferences, and presentations.
    • Operate audiovisual equipment to facilitate smooth execution of live events, including adjusting sound levels, switching between different media sources, and controlling lighting effects.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain uninterrupted AV services.
  3. Maintenance and Repair:
    • Conduct routine maintenance checks on audiovisual equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
    • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on malfunctioning equipment, including identifying faulty components and coordinating with vendors for replacements when necessary.
    • Keep inventory of spare parts and consumables, and reorder supplies as needed.
  4. Documentation and Training:
    • Document setup procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for reference and future use.
    • Provide training and guidance to end-users on the proper operation of AV equipment and software interfaces.
    • Develop instructional materials and conduct workshops to enhance user proficiency and confidence in utilizing AV technologies.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with event organizers, presenters, and other stakeholders to understand their AV requirements and preferences.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate schedules, prioritize tasks, and address any logistical or technical concerns.
    • Maintain a professional and customer-oriented demeanor when interacting with clients and guests, ensuring positive experiences with AV services.
  6. Client Communication
    •  Serve as the main point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries, providing updates, and addressing concerns throughout the event planning process.
  7. On-Site Management
    • Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, coordinating with staff and volunteers to ensure all aspects of the event run smoothly and according to schedule.
  8. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of event details, expenses, contracts, and correspondence, preparing reports and documentation as needed for internal review and client communication.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or relevant vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience in audiovisual technology, including equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with audiovisual software and control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS).
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of event details, expenses, contracts, and correspondence, preparing reports and documentation as needed for internal review and client communication.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and interact professionally with clients and end-users.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support events and activities as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces when installing or servicing AV systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of event details, expenses, contracts, and correspondence, preparing reports and documentation as needed for internal review and client communication.
