Job Overview
The University of Dubuque has a growing Aviation Department that is seeking a Part-Time Aviation Dispatch and Operations Assistant.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Dispatch supervisor with managing tasks related to the scheduling and dispatching of aircraft and simulators and any dispatch operations-related responsibilities
- Verify flight plans, review weather, track aircraft, maintain necessary records, and provide reports as needed
- Communicate with students, flight instructors, and other operations staff on scheduling and dispatch needs and coordinate all related activities
- Open and close the Babka Aviation Learning center and other UD facilities
- Assist with the coordination of maintenance-related activities and squawking of aircraft with the aviation maintenance staff
- Assist with aircraft push/pull responsibilities if needed and coordinate stacking of aircraft
- Support the Director of Aviation Safety to ensure compliance with SMS requirements
- Engage in life-long learning and scholarship opportunities to continuously enhance the Aviation Program and furtherance of the safety culture
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission
Position Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Exceptional skills using Microsoft Office and other computer software
- Ability to pass an FAA/DOT drug test
Requirements:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid US driver's license
- Experience in dispatching or similar operations in an aviation or non-aviation environment is preferred
