Description:

Consistent with the American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice, the behavioral health tech is a member of the Mercy Medical Center healthcare team and assists the registered professional nurse in the delivery of holistic, compassionate, individualized, and effective patient care by assisting the patient with activities of daily living as well as other physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Certification in a 75-hour CNA certification program and a minimum of a high school education or GED equivalent is preferred. Certification and/or experience in the behavior health field are preferred. All techs that hold CNA certification are encouraged to belong to the National Nursing Aide Registry. CNAs in the registry must complete 12 hours of in-service per calendar year.
