Job Overview
Learn essential manufacturing skills in this 38-hour program that apply to industry, such as blueprint reading, measurement and measuring tools, foundational knowledge of quality inspections, safety initiatives and soft skills.
You’ll gain knowledge of shop mathematics conversions to function in a modern manufacturing environment, including decimal number lines and application to part specifications and tolerances. You also develop an understanding of assembly and detail drawings, and will be able to locate and explain the orientation of sectional views, auxiliary, expanded views and conventions. Safety is a priority in manufacturing environments. Learn the four mental states of safety behavior and that all injuries are preventable. Hands-on exercises provide experience using the most common measuring tools used in manufacturing. All training supports a team methodology and organization as it applies to modern manufacturing. Aside from technical skills necessary to perform job tasks, learning critical soft skills in the program make you a real asset to employers; engaging activities will teach you key soft skill areas such as conflict resolution, teamwork, time management and financial literacy.
