Job Overview
The Metrix Company, a medical device manufacturer, is seeking an experienced sales professional for an on-site role in Dubuque, Iowa. The person in this position is responsible for increasing product sales, maximizing margins, generating customer leads, and assuring customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sells products through verbal and written communication, customer visits at Metrix, traveling to customer location, and attending trade shows
- Organizes trade show calendar and manages all associated tasks
- Follows up on customer leads, develops written justification and scope of new business opportunities
- Responsible for pricing new products and maintaining margins on all existing products
- Works with customer to define new products and changes in accordance with the Design Control Procedure
- Attends Design Review meetings for new products
- Prepares quotations for customer inquiries
- Prepares orders and confirms customer requests
- Develops working relationships with customer and answers questions / concerns
- Provides technical support and product training when necessary
- Maintains customer files
- Works with Production to obtain confirmation dates and shipment schedule
- Tracks on-time shipment for Dubuque and Dominican Republic locations and reports findings to management
- Responsible for communicating customer needs to Metrix management and production staff
- Responsible for product complaints, product returns, and credit requests
- Collects customer evaluation data and reports results to management
- Markets products and maintains company image through advertising, trade shows, brochures, website, social media, etc.
- Evaluates sales trends
- Develops sales budget
- Facilitates accounts receivable collection in coordination with the Customer Service Coordinator and contacts customers as necessary
- Oversees Customer Service and Shipping / Receiving functions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred
- A minimum of two years sales experience required
- Medical device or healthcare background helpful
- Must be able to travel up to 10%, including overnight and weekends
- Must possess ability to influence others, organize workflow and provide follow-up in a timely manner
- ·Excellent communication and customer service skills required
- Lifts, carries, or moves objects up to 20 lbs.
