What We are Looking For:
We have an exciting opportunity at our corporate office for the right individual to join our Purchasing team as a full time Buyer! Our Purchasing team is an essential aspect of our retail industry requiring a detail-oriented, self- driven candidate willing to take our Purchasing team to the next level. We are looking for hard working individuals that have a can-do attitude and accepts and embraces change.
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, placing purchase orders, replenishing and maintaining inventory for a specific category of items. Responsibilities also include partnering with our Marketing and Store Planning Departments to develop strategies to deliver key financial metrics such as sales, gross margin, and inventory turnover. Responsibilities are typically expected to necessitate 45 hours a week, but will vary based on business needs, with increased hours during peak times.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3 years related experience preferred
- Up to 20% travel required, some overnight
- Familiarity with software including AS400 iSeries, Windows, P.O.S., EDI, queries, IBM Client Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, SQL, SEQUEL BI tool, etc.
- Excellent analytical, statistical analysis, decision making, and problem-solving abilities
- Exhibit a high level of business ethics to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively express ideas or instructions to others.
