Job Overview
We are seeking a Buyer/Planner to support manufacturing operations by sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the delivery of parts, equipment, and materials. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure production needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Analyze manufacturing requirements and develop purchasing specifications
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend suppliers
- Prepare and submit purchase orders for parts, equipment, and materials
- Coordinate shipping and delivery schedules
- Resolve shipment, quality, and vendor discrepancies
- Support inspections, substitutions, and standardization efforts
- Provide purchasing and materials information to internal teams
- Prepare reports and analyze purchasing trends
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow safety procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen)
- Assist with visitor reception and other operational support as needed
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with MRP systems
- Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities
- Customer-focused and team-oriented mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
