Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a part-time Catalyst for Theological Education in Dubuque. This position is 29 hours per week and is grant-funded through the Lilly Endowment through 2026.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Recruit graduate and enrichment students from the surrounding tri-state area for our year-round local learning community that gathers on Mondays in Dubuque, Iowa
- Network and establish rapport with judicatory leaders and pastors in Waterloo, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and Quad Cities
- Develop UDTS alumni in the region as partners in recruitment and referral
- Contribute to the growth and diversification of the Dubuque learning community
- Participate in monthly UDTS staff meetings, faculty/staff council, and the Admissions Task Force
- Collaborate with other seminary programs and initiatives including Missio cohorts
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission
Qualifications:
- Existing networks and rapport among tri-state-area churches and Christian leaders
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, effective oral and written correspondence, and public relation skills
- Passion for ecumenical community and collaboration
- Ability to establish/maintain appropriate and effective communication and interpersonal relations throughout the campus, college, and the local community
- Comfort and fluency in navigating different Christian traditions
- Commitment to the goals and means of the "Being There" grant initiative
- Ability to use discretion and confidentiality in department and University matters
- Commitment to the mission of the University
- Ability to travel multiple days per week within the area
- MDiv or MA in other theological discipline (preferred)
