Job Overview
Your Responsibilities
As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), your primary responsibilities include providing clinical, educational and clerical support services in the Mental Health Center. In addition, you will
- Complete paperwork as requested by nurses
- Check the medication refill line and coordinate refill requests from clients
- Accurately document observations and interventions in client record when necessary and report to the appropriate medical staff (prescriber or RN)
- Obtain vital signs, pharmacies, allergies, medical conditions, and pre-existing medications
- Obtain prior authorization forms and complete demographic information to give to nurses and document approvals into the EHR
- Assist in inventory and ordering/storing of supplies
- Greeting clients and visitors in a professional, confidential matter
- Scheduling appointments for clients
- Reviewing insurance coverage with clients
- Obtain any/all payments including copays, balances and SFS% if applicable
- Ensuring a positive and professional client services experience
- Other duties as assigned

What You Need
- Graduate from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Proficient in interviewing skills and in client lab testing
- Ability to document nursing assessment and interventions in patient records
