Position is for the Multi-Specialty Clinic location

Grand River Medical Group is seeking a strong nurse (CMA/LPN) to work alongside our clinician/nurse team at our Multi-Specialty Clinic. This includes rooming patients, taking vitals, reviewing medication histories and overall clinical nurse duties. You will be expected to seek out ways to help improve the efficiency of the clinic and partner with the primary nurses to ensure a positive patient experience.

The ideal candidate would be an ambitious self-starter, who is willing to help wherever they can. You will experience a new workload every day and will have the support and encouragement for your fellow co-workers to continue to grow in your role.

This is a full-time position, 36-40 hours per week. This position is typically 4.5 days per week, with no evening or weekend requirements. All nursing positions have the ability to pick up shifts at other clinic locations as desired. Grand River Medical Group's clinics are typically open from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare patients for Clinician office visit: greet and escort patient to exam room, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the electronic medical record. Explain procedures appropriate to visit.
  • Assist the clinician with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Demonstrate ability to perform and assist with clinical procedures.
  • Draw blood for laboratory specimens according to protocol as needed.
  • Document accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record.
  • Communicate to patient test results and return phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient educational materials, communicating clinicians' advice and instructions to the patient and/or family and assess the patient and/or family understanding of the instructions and information.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • One year of Medical Assistant or professional nursing experience in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Must have an active certification or license to practice in the state of Iowa.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

We offer: A competitive hourly wage plus a sign-on bonus of $2,000 at hire and an additional $1,000 at one year.
