McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational solutions, is looking for a Compensation Manager to join our team. 

 

How can you make an impact?  
The Compensation Manager will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and administering compensation programs, including base pay, short-term and long-term incentives. In this role, you will also be responsible for the annual merit and bonus planning cycles and for managing key compensation projects.

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. You will be collecting and analyzing information to identify key themes, trends or issues and draw conclusions that will impact teams and influence business decisions. We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both autonomously and effectively in a team environment. 

 

This position can work remotely from a home office in the United States or from one of our MH offices. Candidates must permanently reside within the United States to be considered for this position.

 

What you will be doing:  

  • Administers the company’s base and variable pay programs, including the Annual Incentive Program, Sales Incentive Program governance and the long-term incentive plan.
  • Manages the Annual Compensation Review process for merit, promotions, and bonus planning.
  • Leads compensation specific projects from inception to completion.
  • Reviews and evaluates all business unit sales incentive plans.
  • Performs various market research and analysis to determine market competitiveness of compensation programs.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert with the Human Resources team and management on various compensation projects, including review, development, and re-design of existing programs.
  • Analyzes and reviews current pay practices, compensation programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with country, federal, state and local regulations and makes recommendations to remain market competitive and in regulatory compliance.
  • Prepares compensation data modeling, cost analysis and statistical analysis as needed.
  • Assists in compensation program audits.
  • Enhances HR and manager compensation acumen through the development of compensation guidelines and training.
  • Manages compensation survey submissions.
  • Conducts job evaluations and provides compensation recommendations ensuring internal equity and market alignment of total compensation. 
    Identifies opportunities for and implements process improvements.

 

We’re looking for someone with: 

  • Bachelors degree in related field and 7+ years of applicable compensation experience
  • Merit planning, short-term incentive, and sales incentive programs experience.
  • Global compensation experience including experience in job evaluation and market pricing practices.
  • Understanding of job analysis, job evaluation and compensation survey methodology.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
  • Exposure to designing and implementing pay structures and job evaluation processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Workday experience preferred
  • Certified Compensation Professional preferred

 

The pay range for this position is between $108,175 - $140,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
