A local Northeast Iowa based manufacturer is seeking Continuous Improvement and Process Engineer who will primarily direct, coordinate and actively create a sustainable culture of continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing company. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will serve as a catalyst to develop customer-driven value streams that create flow of information, activity, and products. Prioritize and execute training and deploy the tools, principals, and processes that eliminate waste. Current projects include but not limited to lean projects in 5S, standard work, the development of MDI processes and facility layout/reconfiguration.

What you get to do:

• Develop competency in a wide range of engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards. Coaches employees in the use and implementation of CI, Quality Assurance and Lean Principals.  Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against the site objectives as needed.
• Facilitate successful 5S, value stream mapping, kaizen, problem solving and rapid improvement process events with both internal and external consultants, customers, and suppliers, with a major emphasis on locally focused improvement.  Provides support for all follow-throughs required to sustain the improvements established during the events.
• Assist in the collection of data for tracking improvement and performs statistical analysis.

What we’d like you to bring to the position:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Lean and /or 6-Sigma Green belt—a plus
• Proven high level of Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD required
• Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
• The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at an organizational level.
