Job Overview
Crescent Community Health Center (CCHC) is a mission driven, patient centered organization providing medical, dental and brain health services to the Greater Dubuque area including our most vulnerable populations. We do this by working hard to bring high quality affordable health care to all in our community. We are looking for a contract grant sourcer and writer who can help us achieve our vision of affordable health care for all.
The Grant Sourcer and Writer will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, managing the grant development and proposal process, and collaborating with CCHC personnel in the development process of evaluating and responding to relevant grant opportunities. Examples of what we want you, as a contractor, to be able to do include:
- Monitor and register for grant databases, agency announcements, and funding alerts for new opportunities.
- Identify federal, state, local, and 3rd Party grant opportunities that align with CCHC's mission and programs.
- Analyze eligibility criteria, funding priorities, and submission requirements for potential grants.
- Determine proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings either in-person or virtually.
- Gather proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and collections, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
- Collaborate with leadership, program staff, and finance teams to develop grant narratives and budgets and ensure timelines for submissions are met.
- Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/ deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation.
- Successfully understand and communicate mission and vision of company applying for the grant.
- Write compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with program goals and funding requirements.
- Working with CCHC staff, ensure grant responses are in compliance with regulatory, funding, agency, and policy requirements, that grant submissions are clear, concise, and compliant with grantor expectations.
- Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, obtaining approvals, and transmittal.
- Assist in responding to grantor questions or additional information requests.
- Monitor grant renewal deadlines and assist in preparing renewal applications.
- Identify opportunities for expanding current grant-funded programs.
- Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
- Evaluate and refine the grant application process to improve success rates.
Minimum requirements for the ideal candidate:
- Possess at least four years' experience in grant sourcing and writing, ideally in healthcare.
- Prove demonstrated success in sourcing and writing grants.
- Knowledge of funding sources for healthcare grants.
- Ideally, you'd have a keen ability to find the "hidden gems" that other grant sourcers might overlook.
Local and remote contractors will be considered.
