Summary: The Data Analyst is an important member of the Quality Improvement & Data Analytics Team. The role will have responsibilities in maintaining data integrity and developing reports. This position will apply knowledge of the business and available data to aid in the development of data-driven solutions. Additionally, this role will maintain and improve existing reporting from our EPIC Health Record system.
Essential Duties:
- Supports data needs/requests related to QI projects including, but not limited to, UDS, workflow processes and population health management.
- Interprets and applies quality improvement standards to care metrics to ensure high quality care.
- Integrates and analyzes data to evaluate effectiveness of quality improvement program making recommendations for changes as appropriate.
- Compiles statistical data, written narrative reports, and dashboards to summarize findings.
- Drives collaboration between departments by sharing data and process improvements.
- Identifies, implements, and utilizes data tools and analytic software to measure and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of core strategies and key initiatives affiliated with project management.
- Presents QI data to employee groups as requested.
- Creates, maintains, and refreshes reports.
- Develops ad hoc and on-going reporting based on business requirements using various reporting systems.
- Performs data audits to ensure accuracy of complex healthcare data.
- Assist with data visualizations and prep for monthly meetings.
- Maintains a friendly, respectful, professional, and culturally appropriate atmosphere for patients and staff.
- Maintains the highest levels of confidentiality for patients and staff.
- Stays current with changing best practices and technologies.
- Upholds and promotes all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Will consider a combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Bachelor's degree or in pursuit of degree, in computer science, MIS, economics, finance, data analytics or a related field preferred.
- Preferred work experience in health care analytics.
- Experience with electronic health records such as EPIC and data analytics platforms such as Crystal reports, Epic reports, or Business Objects, preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel formulas, graphs, crosstabs, and data formatting, required.
