Job Overview

As a Data Center Quotations Specialist at Crescent Electric, you will develop accurate, competitive, and timely quotations for Data Center Grey Space products and equipment based on plans, specifications, and customer requirements. You will partner closely with the National Business Development Manager – Data Centers (NBDM DC), data center operators, colocation providers, electrical contractors, architects, engineers, and design firms to assemble complete Bills of Material (BOMs), secure competitive pricing, and support opportunities from initial inquiry through order closure.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Develop complete and professional quotations for Data Center Grey Space equipment: busway systems, RPPs, PDUs, static transfer switches, cable tray, racks/containment, prefabricated assemblies, and related infrastructure.

  • Interpret construction plans, one‑lines, risers, and specifications to produce accurate BOMs and product selections.

  • Collaborate with colocation facilities, hyperscale operators, contractors, architects, and engineers to validate scope and application fit.

  • Support the NBDM Data Centers on national programs and strategic pursuits, ensuring consistency in pricing and deliverables.

  • Partner with manufacturers and vendors to negotiate lead times and pricing to deliver competitive proposals.

  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Account Managers, Project Managers, Product Specialists, and Branch teams to optimize proposals.

  • Act as a technical resource for Data Center Grey Space equipment and electrical distribution applications.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records for all quotations and projects; track pipeline, revisions, and status updates.

  • Analyze quotation performance (win/loss) by customer, manufacturer, product family, and value to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Follow through on delivery, documentation, and information commitments to ensure a high‑quality customer experience.

SKILLS:

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and quoting/CRM platforms; strong document control and versioning discipline.

  • Working knowledge of data center electrical distribution and Grey Space systems and typical configurations.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, one‑lines, riser diagrams, and detailed specifications.

  • Strong commercial acumen: pricing strategy, margin management, and competitive positioning.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate across internal and external stakeholders.

  • High attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Travel Requirements: 1-2 weeks a year for training or National Accounts team meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in wholesale electrical distribution or electrical contracting required.

  • Demonstrated understanding of data center infrastructure and the bid/procurement process required.

  • Valid Driver's license with the ability to travel for business-related needs.

  • Two‑year technical program or four‑year college degree strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasional standing and walking. Frequent sitting and use of hands/fingers for computer equipment.

  • Lifting up to 25 pounds is occasionally needed.

  • Requirements for reading plan/specification readings: close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

  • May be required to work more than 40 hours per week.

  • Ability and means to travel.
