Medical Associates is hiring a part-time Delivery Van Driver to join the Purchasing & Distribution team.

Primary schedule: 11am-6:30pm Monday-Friday 5 days on, 5 days off.  Every other Tuesday starting at 10am.

The Position:

  • Provide timely, consistent pickup and delivery of supplies, medications, mail, interoffice documents, medical records and other miscellaneous items to and from Medical Associates offices.
  • Some furniture & equipment moving required with assistance
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through quick exchanges as well as excellent problem-solving skills will serve this individual well.
  • Flexibility in roles is a must as this position is expected to know all driver routes and cover drivers leaves of absence 
  • Coverage of other driver's routes is required
  • Previous delivery driving experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Job Details:

  • Pickup/deliver supplies, medications, mail, interoffice documents, medical records, etc. throughout the campuses and satellite offices.
  • Some furniture & equipment moving required with assistance
  • Pickup/deliver inactive documents and other items, such as furniture and medical equipment, as requested by departments to and from warehouse/satellites.
  • Responsible for managing warehouse inventory and tidiness.
  • Respond to stat requests quickly and positively.
  • Ensure vehicle is scheduled for routine maintenance and repairs are timely, coordinate with Manager.
  • Complete all other assigned projects and duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience: From three months to one year of similar or related experience.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Interpersonal Skills: Normal courtesy in dealing with others is required. Work involves minimal contacts, usually within the organization. Contact usually involving routine, non-sensitive issues.

Other Skills: Operate van/truck, pager/cell phone, and moving dolly. Valid driver’s license. 

Medical Associates keeps a close eye on the COVID-19 pandemic and all related national, state, and local guidance related to vaccination, masking, and the mitigation of disease spread.


Physical Aspects:

Climbing - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.

Balancing - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.

Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Kneeling - Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

Crouching - Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Standing - Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Walking - Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.

Pushing - Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

Pulling - Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

Fingering - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.

Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.

Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sound with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.

Vision - 20 / 40 or better in the best eye with or without correction.

Repetitive Motions - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Environmental Conditions:

Both Inside & Outside Environmental Conditions - Activities occur inside and outside.

Subject to Physical Hazards - Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
