Die Setter Technician

Position Summary

The Die Setter is responsible for installing, aligning, and maintaining dies in stamping presses or other machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and install dies in presses according to job specifications
• Align and secure dies using precision measuring tools
• Perform changeovers quickly to minimize downtime
• Adjust press settings (pressure, stroke, speed) for optimal performance
• Inspect parts during setup to ensure quality standards are met
• Troubleshoot die or press issues during production
• Perform routine maintenance on dies and equipment
• Work closely with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams
• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with metal stamping, tooling, or die setting
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Knowledge of press operations (mechanical or hydraulic)
• Familiarity with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for long periods
