Description:
Typical works 40 hours per week. Sunday- Saturday, Every other weekend /holiday; On-call
Works 40 hours per week: Sunday- Saturday; every other weekend/holiday; on-call.
Under direct supervision of the Cafeteria Coordinator, functions as part of the customer service team and assists in the preparation and serving of food for personnel and visitors. Performs a variety of related cleaning and stocking duties. Provides services for age groups from children to elderly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Demonstrates the Mission and Values of Mercy Medical Center.
2. Follows quantity guidelines when portioning salads and desserts. Helps assemble sandwiches. Assures all food appears attractive using appropriate garnishes.
3. Posts the daily menu, serves food to customers following portion control, keeps food adequately supplied and attractively arranged.
4. Checks and records hot food to ensure proper temperature. Notifies cook staff of any problems with food. Records refrigerator and soft serve machine temperatures.
5. Uses the Point of Sale System for customer transactions with accurate cash handling and record keeping.
6. Supplies night shift foodservice with attractive food items and keeps required records.
7. Organizes, records, sets up and delivers refreshments for hospital meetings and social events maintaining attractive presentation of food and professional personal appearance.
8. Maintains clean equipment and work area. Follows schedules for cleaning equipment and notifies leadership of equipment operating problems. Observes infection control practices at all times.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
10. Demonstrates activity to impact change within the department and with other departments.
11. Promotes and establishes effective relationships within the department, with other departments, physicians, and with hospital guest and clients.
12. Takes an active role in enhancing abilities to carry out job functions through personal and professional/job-related growth and development.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. High school diploma desirable, but not required.
2. Experience not required. Supervised on-the-job training is provided to reach normal productivity
