Position Overview:

As the Director of Business Development and Ancillary Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational management and financial performance of laboratory and radiology services at Medical Associates. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead business development opportunities across our clinical areas. This role encompasses ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical care, managing all aspects of laboratory and radiology operations, and developing and executing business strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership: Lead and guide managers of laboratory and radiology departments to deliver high-quality clinical care in alignment with established protocols and standards. Supervise, train, develop, evaluate, and address performance issues of direct reports and departmental staff. Offer guidance and support in problem-solving.
  2. Financial management: Oversee revenue and expense forecasting for laboratory and radiology services. Identify and implement cost-saving measures to enhance financial performance.
  3. Business development: Drive business development initiatives across all clinical areas, collaborating with peer Clinical Directors. Develop and execute strategies to foster growth and profitability, including supporting outreach and contracting efforts.
  4. Stakeholder relationships: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, staff, patients, and community partners for laboratory and radiology services. Facilitate the resolution of intra-departmental and inter-departmental issues. Serve as a liaison between Medical Associates physician/APP professional staff, other departments, and business partners. Enforce MA policies and procedures.
  5. Performance standards and goals: Develop and implement performance standards and goals for ancillary, clinical, and support staff. Establish systems to ensure appropriate staffing and skills for delivering high-quality care and maintaining excellent patient service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required (clinical-focused bachelor’s degree preferred), Master's degree preferred. MBA or degree in Business or business equivalent is highly desired.
  • Experience: Five to ten years of similar or related experience.
  • Business acumen: Strong business acumen, with a proven track record of success in the areas of financial management and business development. Ability to analyze data and use data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Strong leadership skills: Ability to motivate and influence others, demonstrating diplomacy and building trust. Problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.  Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, peer Directors and other stakeholders for laboratory and radiology services.
  • Healthcare knowledge: knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and state and federal laws, for laboratory and radiology services.
  • Organizational skills: Proven multitasking, organization, and follow-through capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Aspects:
