Job Overview
Position Description:
This person is responsible for managing the financial tracking of the 7.4 million dollar Lilly Endowment grant and providing oversight for the use of funds by the sub-grant partners. This is a five-year position, which will conclude on December 31st, 2029, at the conclusion of the grant period.
Position Summary:
This person will work closely with the Wartburg Seminary Vice President for Finance and Operations and the Accounting Director to provide oversight and coding of grant invoices and reimbursements. This person will generate the financial reports for grant reporting and support subgrant applicants in their grant reporting.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Coordinate with Wartburg Theological Seminary Business Office in the tracking of all grant expenses, reimbursements, payouts, etc.
- Coordinate with all subgrant recipients on their use of grant funds and reports
- Generate all required financial reports for Lilly Endowment
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required
- Previous experience in private or public accounting
- Failiarity with accounting database systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with people from varied backgrounds and experiences
- Knowledge of, appreciation for, and dedication to the mission of Wartburg Theological Seminary
- Highly organized, prompt and proactive in communication
Work Environment:
This position is in frequent interation with the program director, staff and faculty. This positin operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. This person is Dubuque-based.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, move around, and work at distances close to the eyes. Arms, hands and fingers will be needed to hangle and reach. Employee will occasionally need to lift boxes or materials up to 10 pounds. Concentration and ability to work at one location standing or sitting for long periods of time. Ability to follow written or oral instructions with little supervisory involvement.
