St. Joseph the Worker Early Childhood is seeking an administrative assistant to JOIN OUR TEAM! This is a full-time, 12-month position with a starting wage of $17.00 per hour. Hours are Monday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The administrative assistant will assist the early childhood director in carrying out the administrative functions of the child care center. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assists in writing the weekly/monthly newsletter for parents.
- Maintains daily check-in/check-out of children and staff throughout the day.
- Maintains strong verbal and written communication skills with children, parents, and staff.
- Fosters a professional working environment in the child care office with an emphasis on confidentiality and customer service.
- Monitors children absences and enters schedule changes for children.
- Maintains weekly staff schedule.
- Maintains all necessary and pertinent childcare files per DHS regulations.
- Works closely with the director and assistant director regarding center registration and enrollment.
- Deposits and enters all payments made to the early childhood center.
- Enters all meals and snacks into Procare on a daily basis and provides monthly food report to the food service director.
- Orders supplies and handles purchase order requests.
- Multi-tasks numerous assigned projects on a daily basis.
The qualified candidate must be able to remain calm under pressure while handling common inquiries, complaints, or identifying emergent situations. Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word, email communication, internet applications, and customer service required.
