Job Overview
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment. This includes ensuring equipment uptime, safety compliance, and efficient operation of production machinery.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, motors, PLCs, and control panels
- Diagnose electrical issues using schematics, meters, and diagnostic tools
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, components, and equipment
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Support production by minimizing downtime and responding quickly to equipment failures
- Install and upgrade electrical systems and machinery
- Follow OSHA safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures
- Document maintenance work, repairs, and inspections
- Collaborate with mechanical maintenance and production teams
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience (manufacturing preferred)
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (480V, 3-phase, controls)
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience in stamping, metal fabrication, or heavy manufacturing
- Familiarity with robotics or automated systems
- Welding or mechanical skills (a plus)
