MANUFACTURING ELECTRICIAN
WAGE; $30-$35/HOUR

Position Summary:

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This includes ensuring all work complies with electrical codes, safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) specific to the food industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems including wiring, conduit, panels, and control systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components on production equipment (e.g., conveyors, mixers, ovens, packaging machines).

  • Work with PLCs, VFDs, HMI interfaces, and automated systems common in food manufacturing.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Ensure compliance with all electrical codes, food safety regulations, and plant safety protocols.

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and system performance.

  • Collaborate with other maintenance and production personnel to minimize disruptions.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to energy efficiency, equipment upgrades, and plant safety.

  • Respond to emergency breakdowns as needed during production shifts.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or journeyman electrician license preferred.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or food processing environment.

  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics and technical manuals.

  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation.

  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and sanitary design principles a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in cold, wet, or humid environments typical of food plants.

  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.
