Title: Engine Application Engineer - 86072
Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position
This position may be located in Dubuque or Davenport, Iowa per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.
This position is eligible for partial telework arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Motor Grader Engine Application Engineer for John Deere Construction and Forestry located in Dubuque, IA or Davenport, IA, you will….
- Develop engine systems, fuel systems, air systems, and other engine auxiliaries as part of the Product Development Process (PDP). Collaborate with engine manufacturer’s engine application team to develop calibrations that meet vehicle performance requirements
- Develop thermal systems meeting engine application and vehicle system requirements
- Contribute to product design guidelines, design books, and specification documents for Motor Graders
- Lead Integrated Systems Development Process (ISDP) projects for Motor Graders to support future portfolio needs

What Skills You Need
- Demonstrated strong technical communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- 2 or more years of engineering experience through internships, co-ops, or project experiences
- Experience with 3D modeling packages and modeling tools
- Demonstrated experience and ability to analyze technical data, consider multiple alternatives, and provide data driven decisions or recommendations
- Demonstrated experience managing several projects simultaneously
What Makes You Stand Out
- Product design, test, or analysis experience in the areas of engine or cooling system design
- Experience working in/with John Deere Power Systems and/or engine manufacturers
- Motor grader design experience
- Experience with product verification and validation processes
- Experience with engine diagnostic tools
- Experience with telematics data
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agriculture, Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
