Fabrication Utility: Johnson Gas

The Johnson Gas Utility team is responsible for assembling and ensuring the quality of the Johnson Gas fireplaces. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in assembly, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. The role involves interpreting assembly instructions, using hand and power tools, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met at all stages of the assembly process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assemble fireplaces according to manufacturer specifications, blueprints, or technical drawings.
  • Install and connect various components such as burners, heat exchangers, and electrical wiring.
  • Conduct visual inspections of parts and completed products for defects or damage.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment as required.
  • Work with a team of assemblers and technicians to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Assist in the packaging and shipping of finished products to ensure they are properly protected for transportation.
  • Document and report assembly progress, issues, and potential improvements to supervisors.
  • Maintain quality control standards throughout the assembly process.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any assembly or product-related issues.
  • Comply with all company policies and industry regulations.

Job Qualifications:

  • Work environment includes exposure to a variety of tools, equipment, and components.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. safely.
  • May involve working in a noisy environment and with materials that may require specific handling or safety precautions.
  • Safety gear (such as gloves, glasses, and ear protection) will be provided and must be worn when necessary.
  • Willingness to work overtime, possibly some Saturdays.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and mobility test is required.
