Key Expected Achievements:

  • Coordinates building, ground maintenance, and maintains custodial functions.
  • Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented accurately.
  • Ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures.
  • Coordinates and reviews service contracts.
  • Supervises custodial employees, and outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, tooling, and processing equipment via one or more of the following trades: electronics, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning, heating, painting, and/or general maintenance.
  • Checks completed work by vendors and contractors.
  • Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections.
  • Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications.
  • Communicates workplace safety precautions to employees.
  • Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions.
  • Maintains facility equipment and tooling spare parts inventories to assure operational readiness.
  • Assures that all appropriate Landlord approvals are obtained for alterations/remodels.
  • Maintains Landlord/Property Manager relationships to assure alignment to lease terms.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Will work in hot conditions at times, and be able to work at a fast pace.
  • Willing to interact with manufacturing personnel in an industrial setting.
  • Willing to arrange schedule to work on off-shifts as required to accommodate the operations.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2-year Associates degree OR proven experience related to managing facilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience/background in maintenance fields strongly preferred (Mechanic, Millwright, Electronics/electrical, Pipefitter, HVAC background).
  • Well-versed in technical operations and facilities management standard methodologies.
  • Experience with facilities, equipment maintenance and/or reliability services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Good analytical/critical thinking.
  • Ability to read/understand facility drawings.
  • Understanding of municipal planning/permitting processes as well as state laws.
  • Understanding and experience in solving factory equipment, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Solid digital literacy including use of SAP and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and maintenance management systems preferred.
