ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES other duties may be assigned.
- Use data analysis, production capacity experience and decision making to schedule and direct factory operations. Manage this process on a continuous basis to derive the optimal sequence to minimize costs, maximize productivity and achieve due dates.
- Respond to, communicate and resolve operational curtailments and hardships.
- Examine quality and workmanship defects, process scrap materials and initiate appropriate corrective actions with the Factory, Foundry, Quality, IE and PE to reduce scrap costs and expedite production.
- Manage the job closing process and maintain the backlog of jobs pending within the system. Determine what issues of workmanship or operational failures create cost variances. Investigate and resolve issues of labor reporting, materials inventory and other data discrepancies. Work with the Factory team on individual coaching or corrective actions to prevent errors and reduce job cost variances.
- Manage the receiving process.
- Develop and train coworkers on inventory transaction best practices and common errors and how to prevent them.
- Be a leader for the 6S program. Manage at least two 6S audit areas. Perform monthly audits on time. Direct the corrective actions necessary to maintain passing audits at 90% or better.
- Perform and train others in quality assessment equipment and measuring techniques including gaging, TIR, centerlines, contour tracer, CMM, SPC, Surfometer.
- Set up, purchase materials and maintain Kanban and point of use (POU) systems. Establish and direct Kanban replenishment methods such as instruction sheets and AR supplies.
- Schedule and direct the cycle count process to include analysis and corrective actions for inventory variances.
- Other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
