Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 for qualifying applicants.

We are looking for a full-time Food Service Worker to join our team. Work hours will be days, 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm, for 80 hours per pay period, and as needed. There is a holiday and a every other weekend rotation.

Prepare and deliver patient trays and carts. Collect and clean dirty trays and carts from the floors as well as clean and sanitize dishes. Prepare nourishments and snacks for patients and provide floor stock for patient and non-patient areas, following food safety and food sanitation procedures. Adhere to customer service standards and follow cash handling polices.

Responsibilities

Food Preparation

  • Prepare and restock patient and retail food, supplies and nourishments.
  • Clean retail and patient service ware, pots and pans.

Food Safety

  • Uses proper hand washing techniques in conjunction with proper disposable glove usage and clean utensils to avoid contamination of foods.
  • Maintains a cleaned and sanitized work station throughout the shift and completes the required daily/weekly cleaning tasks.

Cash Handling

  • Follow and adhere signed Cash Register Policy and Cash Handler's Agreement while working in the Cafeteria.

Basic UPH Performance Criteria

  • Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
  • Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
