JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Forklift Operator
Department: Manufacturing
Reports to: Production Supervisor

Position summary:
Transport materials throughout the facility using a forklift

Essential Functions:
Support of the Safety Policy in day-to-day activities.
Set operators up with product in a manner that promotes efficient throughput.
Ensure operators manufacturing flow is maintained through supply and removal of containers or skids.
Assist set up personnel in starting steel coils.
Remove and replace scrap steel dumpsters as needed.
Empty dumpsters into scrap trailers and accurately fill out paperwork.

Skills:
Ability to operate a forklift safely in limited space.
Keen observation to determine skid change frequency.
Ability to switch priorities in daily tasks to satisfy customer requirements.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Ability to communicate and function as a team member.
Reliability concerning attendance and punctuality.
Multilimbed Coordination and manual dexterity allowing lifting capabilities up to fifty pounds.
Knowledge of appropriate ISO policies and procedures.

Experience and Education:
High school diploma (or GED or high school equivalence certificate)
