Job Summary:
Assist the foundry staff in evaluating casting defects, reducing process variation, collecting, and analyzing data and providing recommendations to management. Additional foundry related duties, such as coordinating trials, sand testing, process book information and pattern evaluations, may also be assigned as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluating defects:
- Identifying defect location
- Identifying root cause of the defects
- Provide recommendations for improvements
Process Variation:
- Review sand testing data
- Monitor sand preparation process
- Data mining for process changes and scrap information
- Perform sand testing in a lab setting to determine our current and preferred sand properties
Process Books:
- Assist with setting up and maintaining the process books or other electronic information needed for the digital transformation project
Required Qualifications:
Be enrolled in a four-year technical program related to the foundry industry.
Work Schedule:
This position is a co-op position. You will work full time (40 hours a week) starting Summer of 2024 and ending in December of 2024.
May be required to wear a respirator
