This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a Grade Management CI Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will...
- Lead definition and drive implementation of continuous improvements to existing grade management products. Champion continuous improvement projects and actively monitor progress through the development, stakeholder communication and delivery process.
- Actively participate in grade management related design reviews and develop a firm understanding of the complete machine and system to aid field support activities.
- Communicate grade management customer expectations the design team to ensure incorporation and alignment to direction.
- Act as the Engineering point person for Product Support and DTAC field support requests for all product line grade management solutions.
- Work with Grade Control Systems Engineers and product line Vehicle Performance Engineers on grade management solutions to ensure designs and performance meet expectations and needs.
- Develop and support common tools for grade management systems in the field and for the factory.

What Skills You Need
- Self-motivated and demonstrated experience taking initiative and working with minimal supervision.
- 3+ year’s professional experience in off-road systems development.
- Demonstrated strong technical skills in the areas of machine design, troubleshooting, and systems development.
- Experience leading a multi-functional team.
- Ability and willingness to travel (< 25%) to customer and supplier sites.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Demonstrated grade control systems, and machine operation capability.
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience with off-road equipment electronic design, communication bus interfaces, mechanical systems, and machine operation.
- 3+ years’ experience utilizing the John Deere product development process.
- Experience with mechatronic hardware, software, and machine systems.
- Experience with construction or agricultural equipment operation.
- Hands on experience diagnosing and repairing systems on off road equipment.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
