This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

 

Your Responsibilities

As a Grade Management Solutions Lead for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will:

  • Act as the engineering point person for all field support issues related to grade management solutions.
  • Lead defining and driving the implementation of solutions for continuous improvement for all Deere grade control platforms.
  • Be an active member of grade management development, having a firm understanding of the complete machine to drive customer expectations into future Deere grade control solutions.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities with 3rd party technology providers.
  • Use digital tools to make data-driven decisions on impactful projects to improve customer and dealer experiences with grade control solutions.

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more year’s professional experience in off-road systems development.
  • Demonstrated strong engineering technical skills in the areas of machine electrical design, troubleshooting, and systems development.
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated experience taking initiative and working with minimal supervision.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Demonstrated grade control, and machine operation capability.
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with off-road equipment electronic design, communication bus interfaces, mechanical systems, and machine operation.
  • 3 or more years’ experience utilizing the Deere product development process.
  • Experience with mechatronic hardware, software, and machine systems.
  • Experience with construction or agricultural equipment operation.
  • Hands on experience diagnosing and repairing systems on off road equipment.

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or equivalent.

The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the key facilities in Deere & Company's Construction and Forestry (C&F) Division. The Dubuque Works manufactures backhoe loaders, crawler dozers, and skid steer loaders for the construction industry and knuckleboom loaders and tracked feller bunchers for the forestry industry.  The Dubuque Works also serves as the Center of Excellence for the C&F Division in the areas of Product Engineering, Product Verification and Validation, Supply Management, and Product Support which includes the Dealer Technical Assistance Center.  From a manufacturing perspective, the core competencies of the factory include plate and sheet cutting, machining, welding, paint, and assembly.
