Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant - Cheerleading Coach or the 2024-25 term, with a potential renewal for 2025-26.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Cheer Coach in practice, games, workouts, study sessions, competitions and/or any other aspects of the spirit program as needed
- Assist the Head Cheer Coach in preparing for team events, practices, games, etc.
- Coordinate recruiting activities including, but not limited to: Emails, phone calls and letters
- Monitor the academic progress of team members
- Administer mandatory team bonding activities
- Assist with game day management responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
- Prior cheerleading experience
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience
- Stunting/Tumbling technique knowledge
All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA.  In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week. Additionally, this position has the ability to receive campus housing and a meal plan or hourly compensation for duties/hours in addition to the required twenty (20) hours per week.
