Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant for International Student Services and Study Abroad for the 2025-2026 term, with a potential renewal for 2026-2027.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Director in the assigned work area to develop and implement programming, activities, initiatives, and special events to engage the campus and community
- Provide support and guidance for undergraduate students by offering advice and being a role model
- Assist with advertising and public relations by coordinating social media messaging, designing and distributing marketing materials, and promoting events and activities
- Assist with general office support, including greeting guests and visitors, scheduling meetings and appointments, and monitoring office email accounts.
- Attend and contribute to regular meetings for your work area and for the Student Life division
- Attend and support activities and events within all work areas of the Student Life division
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members from a variety of backgrounds
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects
- Demonstrated professional behavior and service-oriented attitude
- Propensity for self-motivation and initiative
- Interest in a higher education career path
- Experience planning or supporting events
All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week. Additionally, domestic GA's have the option to participate in work-study. Although it may be within a different department from which the GA serves.
