Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant - in the Nursing Department for the 2024-25 term, with a potential renewal for 2025-26.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, with Department Head, on social media posts
  • Develop a departmental newsletter each semester, including photos, and brief news items
  • Plan special events with the Department Administrative Assistant
  • Participate in recruitment and marketing initiatives as directed and in coordination with University Relations
  • Assist with literature reviews or with the examination of supporting documents and materials
  • Assist with inputting data, managing resources, creating products, and drafting reports
  • Assist Administrative Assistant and nursing faculty as requested with day-to-day tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University and Nursing Department Mission

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Utilize excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with graphic design is a plus
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects at a given time

All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
