Job Overview
The University of Dubuque is a growing faith based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant- Student Engagement in the Heritage Center for the 2023-2024 term, with a potential renewal for 2024-2025.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with stewardship of Center programs, facilities, and resources
- Maintain social media sites including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and the CampusGroups app
- Serve as co-advisor and staff liaison to Heritage Performing Arts Advisory Committee
- Assist in identifying and fostering various university partnerships
- Assist in evaluation of student engagement efforts
- Identify and develop opportunities to engage students through pre and post-performance events
- Assist in development of print materials and advertising directed to the student body
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters’ program
- Proficient computer skills (Excel spreadsheet, Outlook, Data entry technology, PowerPoint, Word, Internet, Search engines, and social media)
- Flexibility with schedule as need arises (ex. evening or weekend commitments)
- Utilize excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
- Ability to work with a variety of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community professionals
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects at a given time
- Maintain a professional appearance
All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
