Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant - Women's Volleyball for the 2024-2025 term, with a potential renewal for 2025-2026.

The University of Dubuque (UD) Volleyball (NCAA Division III) is a competitive program in American Rivers Conference.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze performance and instruct athletes in techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletic competitions
  • Assist the head coach and assistant coach in the coordination of administrative areas of program management including, but not limited to, scheduling of competitions and practices, travel plans, and equipment
  • Assist the head coach in maintaining a system to identify and recruit talented student-athletes in a manner compliant with NCAA rules
  • Assist with monitoring academic progress of all student-athletes on the team, in connection with the coaching staff, compliance coordinator and athletic director
  • Assist in scouting future opponents
  • Assist with developing social media platforms
  • Serve as a role model for the student-athletes by exhibiting ethical and professional conduct at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
  • Working knowledge of NCAA Division III and American Rivers Conference rules and compliance
  • Valid driver's license
  • Flexibility with schedule (ex. evening or weekend commitments)
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Volleymetrics, Hudl, and other volleyball specific programs
  • Prior coaching experience and/or prior experience as an athlete
  • Effective communication skills; both orally and written

All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week.
