Grinder

Position Summary:

The Grinder is responsible for finishing and smoothing metal components to customer specifications using hand grinders and related tools. This position ensures product quality, safety compliance, and adherence to production schedules within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate hand-held grinders, pneumatic tools, and other finishing equipment safely and efficiently

• Remove excess material, burrs, weld splatter, and sharp edges from stamped metal parts

• Inspect parts for defects and ensure finished components meet quality standards

• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications

• Maintain proper part identification and documentation

• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment

• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Assist with other production duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Previous manufacturing or grinding experience preferred but not required

• Ability to read measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, gauges)

• Basic blueprint reading skills preferred

• Strong attention to detail and quality

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods

• Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs

• Repetitive hand and arm motions

• Ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment
