Advance Pump & Equipment, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Peosta, Iowa (near the Dubuque County Fairgrounds). We are a hands-on manufacturing company looking for someone who already has Human Resources experience and wants to continue growing in the field. This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of Human Resources and payroll. It is a strong opportunity for someone with an HR foundation who is ready to broaden their experience, take greater ownership, and grow into additional HR responsibilities over time.

What You'll Do

• Process payroll and maintain timekeeping records, coding and approvals
• Administer employee time off, benefits and routine leave documentation
• Maintain personnel files, employee records and HR documentation
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding
• Manage job postings, applicant screening and interview coordination
• Maintain DOT driver qualification files and required documentation
• Coordinate workers' compensation claims and related documentation
• Assist employees with routine HR, payroll and benefit questions
• Support supervisors with attendance and employee documentation
• Work with the Safety Coordinator on HR-related safety documentation and compliance

What We're Looking For

• 1-2 years of Human Resources experience required
• Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred
• Experience with payroll and timekeeping preferred
• Experience with benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding or employee records preferred
• High level of accuracy, organization and follow-through
• Clear, professional communication and practical problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working with both office and production employees in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
