The Water Department is dedicated to producing and delivering drinking water that is in compliance with all state and federal drinking water standards. We continually strive to adopt new and better methods of delivering the best quality drinking water. The City of Dubuque’s distribution system is composed of 330.4 miles of water mains ranging from 4-inch to 30-inch diameter, 8,008 control valves, and 2,606 fire hydrants throughout the city. It is our goal to operate and maintain a water distribution system consistent with established procedures recognized by the American Water Works Association for efficient management practices. We invite applications for the Industrial Electrical Technician position who will perform skilled work in the design, installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical and/or electronic operating and control systems, equipment fixtures, including instrumentation and heating and cooling systems. An Associate's degree or apprenticeship in Industrial Electrical Technology, Instrumentation or Computer related fields with coursework in electricity or electronics or two years of experience as an electrician and/or electronics technician including experience with high voltage electrical gear and process measurement instrumentation is required. Certification at Journeyperson A or B Level: possession of a valid state driver’s license; and the ability to obtain Iowa DNR Grade 2 Water Treatment Certification within 36 months are required.
