Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Warehouse Layout and Design: Analyze existing warehouse layouts and propose improvements to enhance space utilization, material flow, and overall efficiency. Develop and implement innovative warehouse design solutions to optimize storage, pick paths, and transportation routes. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and ergonomic standards in the warehouse layout.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Lead and drive continuous improvement projects in safety, quality, and productivity by utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions. Promote culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis of warehouse-related issues, such as accidents, defects, or delays and develop corrective and preventative action plans. Utilize data-driven approaches to identify underlying problems and implement effective solutions.
- Capital Equipment Evaluation and Maintenance: Evaluate the need for new warehouse-related capital equipment and provide recommendations for acquisition. Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure minimal downtime through proactive maintenance schedules and efficient repair processes.
- Time Studies and Workforce Forecasting: Conduct time studies to analyze current work processes and accurately forecast future workforce and equipment needs. Optimize labor allocation to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Data Extraction and Measurement: Devise methods to extract and measure meaningful data related to warehouse operations, including KPIs and performance metrics. Use data analytics to identify trends and make data driven decisions for process improvements.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by upholding safety protocols and promoting a safety-first culture among all employees. Partner with safety team to stay up to date with industry regulations and compliance requirements.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the Industrial Engineer must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill and ability required.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field (or currently pursuing such degree).
- For students actively pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, a strong interest in the subject and a willingness to learn and contribute to our team is essential.
- Proficiency in data analysis and relevant software tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and drive change.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Proven experience in warehouse layout design and continuous improvement a plus.
