Decker Precision Machining is currently looking for successful candidates to fill our Industrial Maintenance Technician positions.
Reports to: President/Shop Manager
Job Summary:
This candidate will primarily be responsible for the upkeep of the company's facility and grounds. They must be well-rounded individuals who can perform efficient work on a variety of equipment, executing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Inspects the building, grounds, and equipment.
- Conducting daily routine maintenance, housekeeping, and safety checks.
- Handles necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling, as necessary.
- Installs equipment and appliances.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment and complies with all company safety regulations.
- Keeps a maintenance log and writes shift reports.
- Reports any issues to the maintenance manager or clients.
- Responds to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
- Follows written and verbal instructions from the maintenance manager or clients.
- Collaborates with the production team and contractors as needed.
- Reads and follows manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions.
- Uses equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.
- Implement the preventive maintenance program for production machinery and equipment as directed by the Manager.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
- Must complete record check and drug screening prior to employment.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the property and production facility.
- Preferred: 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing (willing to train).
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of building maintenance, construction, plumbing, or electrician experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
- A certification in building maintenance is a plus.
Work Hours:
- Monday – Friday 5:30 am to 2:30 PM (Overtime may be required)
