Infusion Nurse (RN)

Position is located in Dubuque, IA

Grand River Medical Group is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to work within our Nephrology Clinic to deliver high-quality care. As an Infusion Nurse, you will be responsible for administering various therapies such as intravenous antibiotics and iron replacement, drawing lab work, rooming patients, triaging phone calls and other duties as assigned to provide high-quality, patient centered care.

The ideal candidate would possess robust nursing skills and the ability to work efficiently. You must be committed to working in a fast-paced environment and have strong organizational skills. You will also need to be a team player and work closely with the receptionists, clinicians, and all other members of the care team. Each day will be a learning experience and a different day than the day before.

This is a full-time position, 35-40 hours per week. This position is typically 4 days per week with no nights, weekends or holidays. All nursing positions have the ability to pick up shifts at other clinic locations as desired. The Nephrology Clinic is typically open from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide nursing care by using the nursing process and nursing theory in assessing patient's general condition and in making clinical decisions.
  • Monitor drug therapy and identify drug-related problems such as drug-drug interaction, adverse reactions; take appropriate steps to resolve drug related problems.
  • Administer various therapies such as intravenous antibiotics and iron replacement therapy via a patient vein or peripherally inserted central catheters.
  • Provide direct patient care as required.
  • Accurately administer medications orally, IM, sub-q and IV.
  • Triage phone calls and nurse visits for the assigned department. Nurse visits include, but not limited to immunization and therapeutic injections.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurses.
  • Minimum one year of professional nursing experience required; clinic experience preferred.
  • Must be a licensed RN with an active license to practice in the state of Iowa; BSN preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - required.
  • Mandatory Reporter Certification - required.
