Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech
As an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech at MercyOne, you will be Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the certified pharmacy technician assists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients ranging in age from premature newborns to geriatrics. The certified pharmacy technician is involved in the provision of educational and employee services to patients, guests, hospital, and medical staff of MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center.
Schedule:
- Technician rotating shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Technician evening shifts: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Technician night shift: 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM
General Requirements:
- Typing, clerical and science background desirable.
- Register and maintain as a pharmacy technician in Iowa within 30 days of employment.
- Maintain national technician certification as outlined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy.
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
- Maintains a professional, collaborative work environment to foster a positive public image for MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center.
- Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety, and medical information (i.e. HIPAA, Stark, etc.)
- Must be competent and accurate with performing math calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisions, percentages, fractions, and the metric system.
- Must demonstrate the ability to exercise professional judgment in dealing with pharmacy’s customers.
- Must be competent and thorough in performing job functions to all age groups.
- Must display satisfactory customer relation skills consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and expectations.
- Must display behavior consistent with Pharmacy Citizenship Standards.
- Must effectively utilize verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to organize, prioritize, and function in an environment with multiple stress factors.
- Must be competent with all hospital and pharmacy information system programs that pharmacy utilizes.
- Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on the changing needs of the department and/or the organization.
- List schedule requirements, hours, weekend, and holiday requirements.
Education:
- High school or equivalent education degree/certificate.
